The market
Egypt's financial inclusion rate rose from roughly a quarter of adults in 2016 to around three quarters today — one of the fastest expansions anywhere. Despite that, cash remains dominant in practice, and Fawry's cash-collection network is the bridge between the two realities.

Collection through Fawry is straightforward and reaches enormous scale. Repatriation planning is the real work — resolve it before you launch, not after.

Moving value out
Materially constrained
Collecting here is not the hard part. This rating describes repatriation.
The Egyptian pound is partially convertible under a managed float, with capital controls on large cross-border transactions. Current-account items such as trade and remittance are generally permitted; capital-account movement and profit repatriation face real restriction. This is the hardest corridor in our footprint for getting value out.
Digital assets
Digital-asset settlement is not a viable substitute for the FX constraint here, and should not be planned around.
